Norovirus Vaccine Study

Suncoast Clinical Research is currently seeking adults aged 18 and older for an mRNA Norovirus vaccine study. Compensation will be given for trial related time.

Gender: Male and Female
Location: New Port Richey

About the Study

This study is approximately 25 months (about 2 years) long and requires up to 7 office visits and 6 telephone calls.

Norovirus is a gastrointestinal illness that is the leading cause of stomach issues like vomiting or diarrhea. Anyone can be infected with norovirus, and it is extremely contagious which causes widespread illness. It is essential to stop the spread through vaccines. 

This study aims to test the effectiveness of an mRNA vaccine compared to a placebo in adults aged 18 and older. Participants will need to track side effects for a week after receiving the dose, any symptoms of Norovirus, and provide quality of life measures. Immune response will be assessed through a course of 25 months (about 2 years), and the study is designed to reduce the spread of Norovirus.  

Blood samples are required for this study and there is no cost for participating. An eDiary will be used for participants to track symptoms and side effects.  

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older 
  • Generally healthy 
  • Have not had GI illness within 14 days (about 2 weeks) of participating
